Condition monitoring (CM) is a predictive maintenance strategy that uses specialised test equipment and sensors to track machine health, identifying subtle changes in failure parameters (like vibration, partial discharge, oil analysis, etc.) to detect developing faults before failure occurs. By analysing this data, maintenance can be scheduled precisely when needed (condition-based maintenance) rather than on fixed schedules, preventing unexpected breakdowns, reducing cost, and extending equipment lifespan.
